I recently had my fourth baby. After nursing all of my other kids I thought I had it all figured out but each kid is definitely different and she is no exception. Add the extra element of 3 other kids under the age of 6 and I look for anything to make my life easier.
When I was a few days postpartum I sent one of the other Rumina ladies a message asking what products they might recommend for my size and situation. She sent me the Essential Tank and I am so so happy she did.
Baby number 4, Felicity, is a stage 4 clinger. She is also tiny so we are frequently nursing. I needed something comfortable and easily accessible. I also needed something to help make me feel a bit more confident in my postpartum body.
The Essential Tank fit the bill. It is very comfortable for my changing size. Easy up and down for those frequent nursing sessions but also easy to close up when I need to jump up to help one of my other kids. There is just enough support and compression in the tummy area to make me feel comfortable answering the door with only the tank on.
For pumping, the flanges are held securely in place with a few layers of fabric. As a larger mama I always found most thing meant for pumping didn’t hold the flange in the right place, the Essential Tank allows me to adjust where my anatomy needs the hole to be. I have also pumped on one side while baby is latched on the other side which was comfortable and fairly easy to do. I say fairly only because she’s a super floppy newborn and I need all the hands to support her.
Although the product isn’t necessarily meant to go to very large sizes, I am comfortable wearing it at a 38 g/h. I share this so people won’t be afraid to try it, but also have realistic expectations. Not everyone’s anatomy is the same so while it works for me it may not work for someone else who is a larger size than it’s actually meant for. The return policy is amazing though so I encourage people to try it out. Nothing to lose!
Life with 4 kids is chaotic 100% of the time. I need anything to make my life easier, make my nursing relationship successful, and make me comfortable. This tank definitely helps with all of those things!
